Bullying is a global issue, it is not specific to any race, color , creed, socioeconomic class, or gender. The schools have tried to implement systems to deal with the situation. Yet, in all reality, their hands are tied by lack of training and the constant threat of litigation by some parent that feels their little angel would never bully another student. As a response, schools have implemented “Zero Tolerance Policies”. This policy punishes the victim and the bully regardless of what happened, who started it and what the outcome was. These policies are failing our children and now with new state laws in affect the schools are trying to find ways to deal with the situation with little to no resources or proven techniques.

As a father of 5 and mentor to thousands it troubles me every time I hear of children that are being bullied to the point where they feel they have no other option than to hurt themselves. We have worked and coached students and parents about bullying for more than 20 years. It is disheartening to hear about children who felt they had not other options. Below are some statistics that every parent should know and understand. For me, just one child is one too many.

The statistics on bullying and suicide are alarming:

  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year, according to the CDC. For every suicide among young people, there are at
least 100 suicide attempts. bullyproof 9
Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it.
  • Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University.
  • A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying.
  • 10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above.
  • According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying.
  • 43% of students Fear Harassment in the bathroom.
  • There is no intervention in 85% of Bullying Cases.

Bully-related suicide can be connected to any type of bullying, including physical bullying, emotional bullying, cyber bullying, and sexting, or circulating suggestive or nude photos or messages about a person.

Some schools or regions have more serious problems with bullying and suicide related to bullying. This may be due to an excessive problem with bullying at the school. It could also be related to the tendency of students who are exposed to suicide to consider suicide themselves.

Bully Defense Program™

The Ultimate Bully Education and Defense System

We work with children to treat the cause, not the symptoms. We teach children and parents the reasons why children are bullied and what proven methods work that will prevent their child from being bullied. We also teach children and parents what actions their children can learn and take to ensure that if they are bullied, it will only happen once, maybe twice, but never again. We teach children on how to reduce their chance of being a victim and how to control even the biggest of bullies.

If you are really interested in a program that will develop YOUR CHILD to be impervious to Bullying, Negative Peer Pressure and will be a source of strength and confidence for their peers, then you really need to enroll them in our Bully Defense Program. We will teach your child the following:

  • Non Verbal Negative Attraction Triggers: These are the actions or physical behaviors most children exhibit that make them a big target for bullies. These actions are typically small in nature, yet create huge targets that give bullies the perception that your child is an easy target. We work with children to identify these actions and behaviors and work with them to improve the Non Verbal message they are transmitting. It may sound complicated, however, they are typically very small actions that can be modified with great results.

  • Verbal Communication Triggers: When children banter back and forth most times it is just kids being kids. However, if your child does not feel comfortable expressing themselves during these verbal exchanges or they do not respond at all, it provides a false sense of insecurity that bullies look to exploit. We will work with children and their parents to provide them with exercises that should be practiced just the same as a oral presentation in school. The development of this skill set will provide them the confidence necessary to manage these verbal interactions or confrontations.

  • Physical Self-Defense: It is a proven statistic that 80% of bullying situations become physical. If a bully is  not getting the satisfaction they once did from the verbal intimidation, they WILL  turn to physical violence. One of the biggest misconceptions of the Martial Arts is that it teaches violence. Every reputable Martial Arts school teaches all of their students to use physical force as the ABSOLUTE last option. However, students that understand real world self-defense skills do not have the same trouble that children who do not. It provides them with a quiet self-confidence where they know that should it turn physical, they know exactly what to do.

All three of these development aspects are extremely important to completely ensure your child is BULLY PROOF. With the schools providing what little resources they can to an ever growing issue, it is time for parents to develop the social, emotional, mental and physical skills in their child. We want to develop children and their parents so their child will never be a victim of bullying, or worse, a headline on an evening news channel.

This Bully Defense Program is an extensive 6 hour training program. We are hosting one camp, August 2-3rd, 2017 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  To ensure that your child receives the maximum development from this program, we are limiting enrollment to just 20 students each week.

The investment in the camp is $149. This will include the entire Bully Defense Program instruction, course manual and a daily snack. As a bonus Master Schill, will provide parents a comprehensive 2 hour program to outline the secrets to developing your child to be impervious to bullying and negative peer pressure. He will provide  parents the challenges that social media is presenting to our children and family as well as the reason why most parents are not seeing a real issue until it is too late. All of this is covered in the tuition investment.
